- Nkuv Village fire disaster
The village of Nkuv which is the bread basket of Kumbo central subdivision was on fire on the 10th of March 2007
This was the result of bush fire that engulved 36 homes and completely turned them to ashes. But there was no human casualty. Rather than food coming from Nkuv, immediate intervention had to be done by the Mayor and KUDOC as you can see in the picture below. The consequence of this fire disaster might not only be food shortage in this village but also food shortage in the town of Kumbo. Pictures of the disaster will be available later as a vehicles goes to this village just once a month. Not even a 4WHD jeep dares this road.
- Rohvitangtah Water supply extension
The water supply scheme of Rohvitangtah village like most of the water supplies in Kumbo subdivision has proven not to be enough for the ever growing village population. KUDOC in partnership with SHUMAS realized a project to remedy the situation and this resulted to the construction of an additional tank and 8 stand pipes.
- The roofing of the community house at Tooy
KUDOC has finally realized its project that aimed at providing an environment for community meeting for the population of Tooy. The roofing has been financed by KUDOC and the people can now have a shelter for their community activities.
- Donation of benches to Government Nursery School Bamkikai
KUDOC in a bit to savage the problem of benches has donated to the Government Nursery school Bamkikai, has donated to this kids ten (10) benches valued at 100.000 FCFA.
- Kitiwum water catchment on fire
Early February 2007, saw the water catchment of Kitiwum ablaze. This was the result of unknown fire that invaded the entire catchment increasing the risks to the problems of water shortage. This started affecting the people as there was just one week after water shortage in some quarters. The Coordinator and staff of KDOC visited the affected area to assess the level of damage caused as you can see in the pictures below.
- KUDOC Partners with BERIKIDS
KUDOC goes into partnership with BERIKIDS, a Common Initiative
Group in Bui division with head office in Njavnyuy.
BERIKIDS CIG works with Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) in
providing them with facilities for proper human development and Life Skills
training.
- World Environment Day.
- KUDOC and the Divisional delegation of Environment and Nature
protection are to organise a Conference on the
5th of June 2006
in commemoration of the World Environment Day.
Participants will include:
- The Senior Divisional Officer for Bui Division
- The Divisional Officer Kumbo
- All Mayors, Bui
- All members of Parliament, Bui
- Leaders of legalized political parties, Bui
- Divisional Delegates/Service Heads, Bui
- Religious Authorities, Bui
- Traditional Authorities, Bui
- Presidents of Environmental NGOs, C.I.Gs and Groups
- On the agenda will be lectures from 5 Guest speakers:
- Protection of water catchments by SHUMAS
- Eucalyptus, a Blessing or a Curse? By SHUMAS
- Eco-tourism and protection of the nature by SNV
- Solid waste management and composting by CIPCRE
- Use of compost manure in gardens and farmlands by CIPCRE
- During this conference there will be the award of the Environment Man of the Year.
This conference is expected to increase the awareness of the leaders of the division in
matters of environmental management.
- Leveling of Youth field at Melim:
Leveling of the youth field KUDOC bought and offered to the youths of Melim.

Orphan Programmes
Each year KUDOC receives constant requests from orphan kids asking for assistance
to meet up with schooling requirements. For example, a fifty dollar ($50) donation
will take care of the primary school needs of an orphan kid for one academic year.

Road Excavation
Farm-to-market roads in rural communities within Bui Division are seriously underdeveloped. Good farm-to-market roads
can go a long way in improving the livelihood of the farmers by allowing them to move their produce to the markets.
